The New Stations Fund was launched on 24th January 2013 as an opportunity for railway station proposals in England and Wales to receive funding towards the capital cost of the railway stations.
A second round of the New Stations Fund was announced in the Summer 2015 budget is set to be launched during 2016. For more information click here. A third round of the New Stations Fund was announced in January 2020, further information about that fund can be found here
The Department for Transport advised that they received fourteen bids, worth £46 million (see Table 1).
Five bids were successful, sharing £14 million between them.
