East Linton joins the rail network

A train has been named after a nearby castle as part of opening celebrations for East Linton railway station.

802110 was named Hailes Castle on 13 December after a nearby fortified manor in a ceremony attended by local residents, piper, highland dancers and representatives from TPE and the Scottish Government.

Trains from Scotrail and Transpennine Express will serve the station.

The station is the eighth railway station to be opened in 2023. A list of articles about the station on this site can be found here.
