An update to East Renfrewshire Council shows that work is progressing on the proposed railway station at Barrhead South. The station will be located on the Glasgow to Neilston railway line.
Transport Scotland formally commented on and endorsed the Stage 2 Detailed Strategic Transport Appraisal (STAG2) in January 2023. These comments are informing the contents of the augmented OBC. It is anticipated that the Glasgow City Region Cabinet will approve the OBC and release the next tranche of funding in August 2023. Construction is estimated to start in Spring 2024 with a 12-18 month build.
