The mayor of Bedford Borough visited the site of the proposed railway station at Wixams. Geotechnical surveys are ongoing and a programme for ecology works has commenced, which will involve clearance of vegetation and installation of ecological fencing all in preparation for the construction phase of the project which will begin in late 2023.
Wixams is located south of Bedford on the Midland Mainline.
