Government confirms funding allocation to help close the Portishead gap

The Department for Transport has granted £15.5m towards work to restore the railway line to Portishead. It follows a £10m commitment from North Somerset Council and is expected to be followed by a further £10m from West of England Combined Authority when it meets on Friday 29 July.
