Regular services start serving Okehampton

Okehampton gained an all year round service this morning following the arrival of the first passenger train this morning. The line has not had a regular service for more than 50 years, although it has been served by a summer Sunday service that has run for around 20 years.

£40m has been spent upgrading the line to enable the regular timetable.

150233 and 150221 operated the first service this morning, which arrived into Okehampton at 0710. The initial timetable will be approximately two hourly, with an hourly service expected to be implemented in the near future.
