Thirteen proposals receive funding from Restoring your Railway ideas fund

The Department for Transport have confirmed that thirteen bids to the third round of the Restoring your Railway ideas fund have been awarded funding, enabling them to progress initial Strategic Outline Business Cases into proposals. The 13 winners are listed below:

  • Reopen the Darlington – Weardale line to passenger services
  • Reopen the Ashton – Stockport line to passenger services
  • Reopen the Middlewich line to passenger services
  • Reopen the Rawtenstall – Buckley Wells line to passenger services
  • Reopen Corsham Station
  • Reopen Stonehouse Bristol Road station
  • Reinstate the line and provision of new services, Tavistock – Plymouth
  • Reopen the Gaerwen – Amlwch line, Anglesey to passenger services
  • Reopen the Oswestry – Gobowen line
  • Reopen the Stoke – Leek line
  • Reopen the Askern Branch line
  • Reopen the Don Valley line to passenger services
  • Reinstate the Beverley – York line
