Network Rail seeks contractors to deliver Portishead

Network Rail has sought interest from interested parties to deliver the major elements of works required to enable the operation of a railway service between Bristol and Portishead. It includes 5.5km of new railway to be constructed on disused line between Pill and Portishead plus two new railway stations.

Depending on funding and consents, the overall value range could be anywhere between £45million to £70million.

The planned timescales would see the Development Consent Order approved in October 2021, contract award in early 2022 and construction complete in March 2024.
