Government confirms funding contribution to West Midlands stations

Five railway stations are set to open in the West Midlands following confirmation that the government would allocate £59m towards them. Three stations on the Camp Hill line (Moseley, Kings Heath and Stirchley) and two stations on the Walsall-Wolverhampton line (Willenhall and Darlaston) would open as part of a £116m investment in the rail network.

Following commitment for the remaining funding by the West Midlands Combined Authority in March, construction would be expected to begin on the station by the end of the year.
