Government rules out Doncaster-Sheffield Airport chord

The government has advised that it does not believe that the proposed chord to serve Doncaster-Sheffield Airport does not deliver good value for money in its current guise. The scheme, which was expected to cost around £400m would have created a new chord and station off the East Coast Mainline serving Doncaster-Sheffield Airport enabling investment in development opportunities around the site.
