West Wales Rail Campaign group Traws Link Cymru has published a report with new research
into the reopening of the Aberystwyth to Carmarthen railway.
The report confirmed that the trackbed was mostly free of development. It highlighted opportunities to reduce the costs proposed in a previous report by accounting for the better than expected condition of three tunnels on the route, review the catchment populations and modern construction methods. This enabled a reduction in the price proposed in a previous report to £620m.
