At the Crossrail Board on 23 July an update was provided by the leadership team concerning the impact of COVID-19 on progress to complete Crossrail. The pauses caused by COVID-19 have impacted on the programme of work meaning that the previously announced opening date for the central section of Summer 2021 is no longer achievable. The expected opening date is to be confirmed in a more comprehensive update at a future date.
