Lancashire County Council have pledged £2m to clear the college buildings that sit on the site of the proposed railway station for Skelmersdale and progress further work for the development of the railway line.
Work on GRIP3 is expected to be completed this summer with additional work on the Strategic Outline Business Case pencilled to conclude in late 2020.
