Bids have been made to improve connectivity in Yorkshire by restoring railway lines and stations across the county.

The campaign for Askern railway station has submitted an application to the Ideas Fund, adding a railway station on the Doncaster-Knottingley line.

A separate application has been submitted to review the former railway corridor between Barnsley and Wakefield.
