Timetabling issues knocks Exminster back

A railway station at Exminster is unlikely to be delivered because of insufficient capacity to accommodate further stops on the railway line between Exeter and Newton Abbot. The proposed station at Marsh Barton has been prioritised because it can be accommodated in the timetable and is better located than Exminster.

Work on a railway station at Marsh Barton is expected to begin in 2021 with £4.37m allocated from the LEP Growth Deal programme. This is subject to Network Rail approvals.

A bid to the Restoring Your Railway fund has been made for the railway line between Bere Alston and Tavistock.
