Sixty applications to Restoring Your Railway Ideas Fund

The membership of the virtual panel that will review the 60 applications to the first round of the Ideas Fund has been confirmed.

The Ideas Fund panel members are:

  • Chris Heaton-Harris MP – Rail Minister (Chair)
  • Simon Clarke MP – Minister for Regional Growth and Local Government
  • Sir Peter Hendy – Chair, Network Rail
  • Jackie Sadek – CEO UK Regeneration
  • Isabel Dedring – Global Transport Leader, Arup

The panel will examine the bids on paper to identify those bids that are sufficiently advanced to receive funding. The DfT will write to all applicants in May to update them on their application, with unsuccessful bids offered further support to enable further applications in June and November.

The second ideas fund funding round is expected to take place in June. A third round is expected to take place in November

The deadline for the New Stations fund round 3 is expected to close on 5 June.

    1. Hi Tony,

No there is not a complete list of round one applications that I am aware of. I submitted an FoI request when the successful round 1 applicants were published and I understand that the DfT is considering future publication. As soon as I receive a complete round 1 list, I will add them to this website.

      Kind regards

      Peter

  1. HI my foi application request has been turned down for the unsuccesful applicants from round one . ? the excuse is long winded and unhelpful.

    1. Hi Anthony. I was promised publication in weeks, which has now passed. However, I have not appealed yet because of the incident at Stonehaven, which I expect has been the priority in recent weeks. I will push for a full list in my appeal to their response that I will be submitting soon.
