TfL backs Sutton Tram Link

Transport for London has backed a tram route connecting Colliers Wood with Sutton following a public consultation. The route was chosen because it has the greatest transport benefits, most effective at regeneration and had fewer delivery charges. Trams were chosen over Bus Rapid Transit because it has greater potential to gain funding and was more popular in the consultation.

TfL is now working with local councils to identify the sources for the estimated £420m cost.
