Transport secretary visits North East projects

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has used visits to Horden and Blyth to outline how new investment will be used to boost the rail network around the country. He visited Horden Peterlee, which is expected to open in May following investment from the council, LEP and round 2 of the New Stations Fund.

He also visited Blyth to see the potential opportunities that are available to open the railway line serving Blyth and Ashington.
