Edinburgh South Suburban proposals rejected in latest report

A report to Edinburgh City Council has ruled out proposals to restore passenger train services on the south suburban line in Edinburgh. The main challenges are the use of the railway line as a strategic freight route, which would not support high frequency services and difficulties accessing central Edinburgh either via the national railway network or Edinburgh tram.
