Portway Park and Ride faces funding shortfall

The costs for delivering a railway station serving Portway Park and Ride have increased by £1 million following the completion of development work to GRIP4. The report approved by Bristol Council has called for the shortfall to be covered by a reallocation of LEP funds already earmarked for Bristol. A request will be made to the LEP.

The increase in costs has been driven by additional costs for track drainage and foundations plus an extended platform, which will enable the station to serve potential future train formations.
