Timetable change restores regular services to two railway lines in the north

Two railway lines in the north have gained hourly services following the May 2019 timetable change introduced last Sunday.

The Halton curve is now being serviced by an hourly Chester-Liverpool service with some services extended to Wrexham. It was previously served by a summer only parliamentary service in one direction.

Gainsborough Central and the railway line to the south of the station has gained its first Monday-Friday service since 1993 with the extension of services that previously terminated at Retford. It had previously only been served by six services on Saturdays.
