A bid to the Housing Infrastructure Fund for funding for a railway station near Chelmsford has been shortlisted by government. The station has already been allocated £12m by the South East LEP but this money will only be released if the bid to the Housing Infrastructure Fund is successful. The bid also includes the Chelmsford North East bypass. The government is expected to make a decision later this year.
