Campaigners push for Hythe reopening as last railway wagons removed from Fawley

The last railway wagons have been removed from Fawley oil refinery leading to calls to reopen the line to Hythe also known as the Waterside branch.

The proposal to reopen the line was formally shelved in 2014 by Hampshire County Council because it was poor value for money despite a BCR of 1.4 in the GRIP 3 report.
