£2.2m has been allocated towards the construction of a railway station at Portway Park and Ride near Bristol on the Severn Beach line. The station is expected to cost £2.6m and is expected to open by May 2019. A bid has been made to the New Stations Fund round 2 for funding.
The business case was shared with the West of the England Joint Committee meeting on 28 June 2017. The central demand forecast for the station in the opening year of 2019 is 69,728 journeys rising to 129,787 by 2038.
