Elland back on the agenda

The expected costs for a railway station at Elland have risen to over £22m according to a report to be presented to WYCA. The sought after proposal has received a new lease of life after money allocated to line speed increases was freed up. The increase in costs is understood to be due to a number of projects that will support the integration of the railway station into the existing transport network including new walking routes and a bus interchange. WYCA have approved nearly £900k of investment into the outline business case with a completion date for this in December 2018 and delivery of the railway station in 2022.
