Bristol City Council has submitted a bid to the second round of the New Stations Fund for £1.91m in November 2016. Total scheme cost is £2.63m. Network Rail will start work on the GRIP 3 report in January 2017. Construction is planned to start in 2018 with opening in May 2019.
A bid for £686,000 was submitted in round one of the New Station Fund. It was not successful.
