Ongoing studies looking at the possibility of reopening the railway line between Dyce and Ellon are to include an option that would see the railway line extended to a park and ride station north of Ellon. This was proposed following the success of the park and ride at the end of the borders railway serving Tweedbank.
It would be wonderful to board a train from Ellon. As a regular commuter by train on the Aberdeen south train, I would relish the ease of catching a train locally. I have lived in Ellon for 29 years and honestly commuting into town is the worst it has ever been. I have no hope of the bypass making it any better. Is there any update on the proposal of a rail link at Ellon? I have not heard anything locally for two years. Is it all just wishful thinking?
