Ashington restoration could cost £195m

The GRIP2 report produced by Network Rail into restoring passenger services on the Ashington, Blyth and Tyne railway has been costed at £195m with £70m of benefits to be gained from a service that could run between Ashington and Newcastle-upon-Tyne in just 38 minutes.
