Look Ahead – 2015 Proposed Railway Stations and Lines

2015 is set to be a big year for proposed railway stations as projects across the UK begin to reach completion and head towards their opening dates. Seventeen (possibly eighteen if Lea Bridge is confirmed) railway stations are expected to open during 2015, taking the total figure of railway stations on the rail network to 2,555. The biggest scheme will see seven railway stations open in the Scottish Borders as the Waverley Route is opened in September. Evergreen 3 is also expected to open to Oxford Parkway, providing the city with a second route to London. West Yorkshire, the West Midlands and Devon are also expected to open clusters of railway stations during 2015.

2015 is also set to be an election year with substantial support to be placed towards many rail infrastructure proposals by prospective parliamentary candidates. This site will be tracking all of the news surrounding these proposals throughout 2015, keeping you informed. If you have any news or opinions, this site is open to all contributions.
