Swanage Railway acquires lease

The Swanage Railway has signed a 99 year lease of a section of railway line that connects it to the National Rail network as part of plans to connect it to the rail network at Wareham. The Railway received funding from the Coastal Communities Fund, which will result in it operating trains for at least 140 days over the next two years. The track bed was bought by Dorset County Council following the closure of the railway line.
