Stonehouse misses out on funding

A proposal to reopen the Stonehouse Railway Station on the line between Gloucester and Bristol has missed out on a second attempt to attract funding from the Gloucestershire Local Transport Board.

The funding was awarded last July but a project was withdrawn, resulting in a second attempt for the proposal. Although Stonehouse has a railway station on the Gloucester to Swindon line, local campaigners believe that a link to Bristol would assist with developing the local area.
