David Higgins, Chairman of HS2, has launched the HS2 Plus report which proposes the scrapping of the HS2-HS1 link through North London and extending the first phase to Crewe where a hub could be formed. The government has welcomed these contributions.
David Higgins has also called for a more ambitious plan to Manchester and Leeds as well as further electrification and line speed improvements across the Transpennine corridor.
