Commuter services dismissed on Worth Valley Railway

Suggestions for a commuter rail service on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway have been dismissed following a recent meeting of the West Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority.

Metro have worked with local stakeholders to identify the demand and revenue of peak hour commuter services operating towards Keighley in the morning peak and towards Oxenhope in the evening peak.

Although the services would bring economic and social benefits, the report advised that the amount of subsidy would be higher than similar services on the Northern Rail network and connectivity could be improved using other methods that were better value for money.
