Sir David Higgins has backed the creation of a South Yorkshire HS2 parkway railway station between Doncaster and Rotherham. He noted that it could take pressure off thr A1 and M1 roads.
The new transport secretary, Chris Grayling, has said that that he has no plans to back away from the project.

Sadiq Khan has called for a postponement of the development of a terminus for HS2 at London Euston until a less disruptive plan is created. He has suggested that the route terminates at Old Oak Common Interchange as an interim measure.
